What a little eye for publicity shots our soon-to-be-toddler has. She went for a checkup today and is officially all better, by the way. She is deliriously happy again, chattering away every minute that she's awake, and looking forward to turning 1 in a couple weeks.

Doctor Visit

So, we went to the doctor today and it looks like Maddy is healing. She no longer has a temperature or spots. However, she does still have the ear infection and we are now on our third medication for that. Also, her asthma cough is still there and she lost 12% of her body weight in the last week. When I picked her up this morning I couldn't believe how skinny she was. It is so sad to see a skinny baby...especially a sick skinny baby. But things are looking up. Madeline has another allergy appointment (she is allergic to dust mites) on Wednesday, at which we will pick up the new nebulizer, and hopefully her wheezing will be gone by then.

I have to say from my own personal experience as a parent that it is so difficult to see your child sick. Michael and I have not only been struggling with all sorts of Maddy illnesses the last few weeks but also all of the flu symptoms we got afterward. The most damaging example is the flu Maddy so kindly gave to Boris last weekend. I just found out today he has a 102 fever...

I'll post some pictures on the blog tonight and hopefully instead of a lethargic sad baby, they will be of a bustling happy Maddy again.

Sick Baby

Boy oh boy has Madeline been sick the last week and a half. First it was a cold/flu, than a scary 103 fever, than a double ear infection and now a nasty cough that the doctor thinks might be asthma. But, that's not all, Madeline also learned (the hard way) that she is allergic to penicillen. So, poor maddy has spots all over her body. And if you think they are bad in this picture, quadruple it and that is how she looks now. Hopefully our smiley little baby will be back in action by this weekend.
